I graduated from Elma High School in 1976. As a high school student, I competed in SkillsUSA in Collision Repair and Leadership. I have worked in the auto collision repair industry for 17 years and in 1992 I became a certified Career and Technical Education teacher. My first teaching job was at West Technical Skills Center in Bremerton as the Collision Repair Technology instructor. While at the skills center, my students competed in SkillsUSA and in total, won 21 state championships in Collision Repair, Auto Refinishing, Job Skills Demonstration, Auction Skills, and Job readiness competitions. In 2011, I returned to Elma High School as an instructor. I teach classes in Robotics, Energy Technology, Sustainable Technology, and Basic Automotive. My First Tech Challenge first-year robotics team finished in the top 5% of the state and my SkillsUSA students were state champions in the Urban Search and Rescue and Actions Skills competitions in the 2012-12 school year... when I was elected teacher of the year.
I have three sons who are Elma High School graduates. Currently, I have three grandchildren (future Elma wrestlers). My hobbies are fishing, fishing and fishing.
