ELMA - January 20, 2017 - Elma High School administrators this morning discovered a backpack with a .22 caliber handgun in it. The gun was not loaded, but there was ammunition with it. Principal Darrin Lowry called the police. The police arrested an Elma High School student for possession of a weapon on school grounds.

We work to ensure a safe environment for staff, students and community. Elma High School staff worked cooperatively with the Elma Police Department. The situation was resolved swiftly, and no students were harmed. The District would like to thank the Elma Police Department for their quick and professional response.
